The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the full timetable for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates. According to the schedule, the exams will commerce on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, and are expected to end on Friday, September 19, 2025.

The detailed timetable includes all core and elective subjects, along with their respective paper codes and durations. WAEC has also made special arrangements for candidates with visual or hearing impairments—granting them 50% extra time during exams to ensure inclusiveness and fairness.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed that government support has been provided to all Senior High Schools across the country to facilitate the smooth organization of practical exams. This means that parents will not be burdened with additional costs for materials or logistics.

In a related development, GES has taken a strong stance against examination malpractice. It announced that any teacher, invigilator, or non-teaching staff caught aiding in cheating or engaging in irregularities during the WASSCE exams will face immediate dismissal. Students involved in such acts also risk having their results canceled or being banned from future exams.

This year’s WASSCE process highlights major improvements in digital accessibility, better exam monitoring, and stronger institutional collaboration to uphold academic integrity across West Africa.
