A devastating fire has swept through the House 3 boys’ dormitory at Oyoko Methodist Senior High School (OMESS) in the New Juaben North Municipality of Ghana’s Eastern Region, according to Citi News.

The blaze, which erupted approximately an hour ago, is currently being tackled by firefighters from both the New Juaben North and South Municipal Fire Commands. A fire tender from the Regional Fire Command has also been deployed to assist in containing the flames and minimizing further damage.

Though the exact cause of the fire remains unclear, preliminary investigations suggest it may have started in the master's bungalow—located within the same block as the boys' dormitory—before rapidly spreading to the student quarters.

Citi News sources confirm that all belongings in the master's bungalow have been completely destroyed. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported at this time.

Authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage as firefighters work tirelessly to bring the situation under control.
